Join our Church Away Weekend

    1st - 3rd October 2010    

Led by Rev Julie Underwood and Rev Suzanna Bates

This is the first Three Churches Away Weekend for people associated with Bandon Hill, Carshalton and Wallington Methodist Churches. We will have time for fellowship and worship, prayer and group sessions, as well as plenty of opportunity for fun and relaxation. We are planning special group events as well as activities for the children.

Ashburnham Place, Near Battle, East Sussex

Ashburnham Place is a Christian conference and prayer centre set in the glorious East Sussex countryside with over 200 acres of woodland and gardens. Facilities include safe playing areas for children, indoor games area, adventure playground, well equipped halls and meeting rooms, library and dining rooms, prayer centre and holy space for quiet prayer.

Our Theme: Church Without Walls                                                                          

A church without walls seeks to change several mindsets:

• From church focus to Christ focus - following Jesus to see what church forms around him
• From settled church to church as a movement - going where people are rather than waiting for them to come to us
• From isolation to interdependence - encouraging churches to work together
• From faith as security to faith as risk - looking for new courage to break out of old routines

During the weekend we will share in workshops and sessions:

• Following Jesus in a world of different faiths and no faith
• Messy Church
• Godly Play
• Shaping the future by letting gp of the past and remembering the good things
• Cafe Church
