A Great Day Out

Church rambles remembered

Organised rambles have been popular with our Church members and friends for many years. We welcome any one who wishes to join us on our walks. Bring your friends. We go whatever the weather!

Left: This walk past farm machinery near Bletchingley in Surrey was undertaken many years ago. However, our walks held typically on the first Bank Holiday Monday in May, remain popular with all ages - and dogs!

Bank Holiday Monday - 3 May 2010

There were 23 people and 3 dogs on David Moore's walk and we were delighted to welcome 8 members of Carshalton Camera Club who hold their meetings at our church. A five mile ramble took us through the bluebell woods in the Surrey Hills area of Sheepleas.

At St Mary's Church, West Horsley, we were greeted by Anne Grace, a volunteer who offered us coffee and showed us round the church. We enjoyed our picnic lunch along the way.

A Big Thank You

A big thank you to David Moore for organising this amazing walk. The countryside was beautiful and we were treated to a wonderful display of bluebells and a field of cowslips, well known by locals in this area. For me the highlight was our stop at St Mary's Church - a chance to warm up and hear about this ancient place. The church will be well worth a return visit.
