Ruskin Players

The Ruskin Players are affiliated to Carshalton Methodist Church. They regularly present comedy, drama and musical entertainment in the round.

The Church's Ruskin Players Group is unique in South London in that all plays are performed "in-the-round". This means that we do not use a conventional stage. Rather, the floor of our Ruskin Hall is the stage, and the audience sit on the sides, looking across to the actors on the same level.

Our next production will be Alan Ayckbourn's
Absurd Person Singular
18, 19 and 20 November 2010

Absurd Person Singular is set over three Christmases in the kitchens of three couples: Sidney Hopcroft, an ambitious tradesman, and his submissive wife Jane; architect and adulterer Geoffrey Jackson and his depressed wife, Eva; Ronald Brewster-Wright, a banker, and his alcoholic wife Marion. The three couples range from working to upper class.

Ian Akhurst will direct our perforance and auditions will take place in early August. Box Office details to be announced later.
